Since 1903 we have been extracting sugar from the sugar beet produced by our nearly 4,000 farmers in Castile and Leon, Andalusia, La Rioja, the Basque Country and Navarre. It is a traditional crop of family farms that pass from generation to generation. The sugar beet production areas represent an important economic base and contribute to the settlement of the population in the rural environment. We also import "raw" cane sugar that we refine in our centers.

Research and innovation are fundamental aspects for Azucarera and allow us to go further and create other products and functional ingredients for human and animal food, fertilizers and products for agriculture and industry. In addition, during the process of extracting the sugar we generate electrical energy and water vapor that serve to supply ourselves.
