In the first years it was only produced from October to April, while the rest of the year it was no longer manufactured.

Va ser en 1955, a causa de el gran èxit obtingut, que es va decidir fabricar de manera ininterrompuda. Es la va batejar amb el nom de Voll-Damm. «Voll» en alemany vol dir ple, complet.

The name suited a beer with a strong, intense flavor and a lot of body.
