Uisge-beatha is the name given to whiskey in Scottish Gaelic, and the word "whisky" comes from "uisge". Uisge-beatha can literally be translated as "water of life". Blended Scotch whiskeys are malt or grain whiskeys made entirely in Scotland and are divided into five distinct categories: single malt, single grain, blended malt, blended grain and blended whisky.
