Heineken
In 1873, a young entrepreneur named Gerard Heineken discovered his passion for brewing. He bought land in what is now the center of Amsterdam, built a brewery and perfected the recipe for what would soon become Holland's first "premium" lager beer. This is how the Heineken name, which was stamped on each individual bottle, became a national symbol of quality. It's been 140 years since Gerard started his small business, and today 25 million Heineken® are consumed every day in 192 countries. But we have always known that quality does not depend on the size of the brand, but on the purity of the beer. That's why, after four generations and a huge global expansion, this family continues to feel passion for making a real premium beer, keeping the same illusion and the name of its creator.
